In ancient times, Vejers Strand was the
starting point for extensive seasonal fishing,
which stopped at the end of the 1800s. At
the same time, the first holiday homes began
to be built, and people came to the town
because of the wide sandy beach and the
good bathing water, which is child-friendly
according to west coast conditions.
Here you can also drive your car to the beach,
as one of the few places in Denmark - but only
on the South Beach - the North Beach is still
car-free.
