In the wake of WWI, the military weapon
systems were developed and the expropriation of the area at Kallesmærsk Hede
began. In connection with WWII, even
more of the area was seized and in the 60's
quite a few small towns were closed down
and people moved from their farms in
the area. AND the same war also brought
the Atlantic Wall with it and ruins can be
found all over the area – some made into
works of art. This entire historical perspective can be seen and experienced at the
Tirpitz Museum in Blåvand.
Here, as on the entire west coast, many
washed up remains of farms and houses
have been found lying on the beach, just
as strandings and wreckage were found at
“The Reef of death” – now called Horns Rev.
