air and wild meadows, the heath's vast expanses
and the herbs that smell like small gastronomic
wonders. For your own North Sea cuisine, the land
offers mushrooms and wild berries to find and
pick for yourself.
You may harvest in public areas, including forests,
meadows and beaches. Originally, the expression
was that you could only collect what you could
carry in a hat. Today you can collect the equivalent
of a shopping bag. Then there will be enough for
the next guest as well. In public forests, you may, in
principle, collect everywhere in the forest. On the
other hand, if it is a private forest, you may only collect what you can reach from the path and road.
Otherwise, ask the owner for permission.
